Billing Items
The Cloud Container Engine (CCE) itself doesn’t charge any fees. However, during the usage process, relevant resources (such as nodes, bandwidth, etc.) will be created, and you need to pay for these resources you use. The billing items related to CCE are divided into the following two parts:
- Clusters: The cost of control node resources varies according to the type of each cluster (virtual machines or bare metals, the number of control nodes) and the cluster scale (the maximum number of supported nodes).
Note: The cluster scale refers to the number of cloud host servers created and connected by users under the cluster.
- IaaS Infrastructure: The cost of the IaaS infrastructure used by the cluster’s working nodes, including relevant resources automatically created or manually added during the cluster creation and usage process, such as cloud servers, cloud hard disks, elastic IPs/bandwidths, load balancers, etc. The prices refer to the price list of the corresponding products.
Billing Modes
CCE supports two billing modes: pay-as-you-go and yearly/monthly subscription, allowing you to make a flexible choice.
Pay-as-you-go: It is a way of paying after use. The billing starts from “activation” and ends at “deletion”, and the charge is based on the actual purchase duration. This purchasing method is relatively flexible. You can obtain resources as needed, start and release them at any time, without having to purchase a large amount of resources in advance.
Yearly/Monthly Subscription: It is a way of purchasing first and then using. Compared with the pay-as-you-go mode, this purchasing method can offer greater discounts. For long-term users, this mode is recommended. When users make a purchase, the system will deduct the amount in the user’s cloud account according to the model selected by the user.
Changing Configurations
Pay-as-you-go: You can change the “pay-as-you-go” billing method of the cluster to the package period (yearly/monthly subscription) billing. After the pay-as-you-go is changed to the package period, the control nodes, working nodes and affiliated resources (cloud hard disks, elastic public IPs) will be converted into package period resources, and a new order will be generated. After the user pays the order, the package period resources will take effect immediately.
Yearly/Monthly Subscription: Clusters with the yearly/monthly subscription billing mode do not support changing configurations during the billing cycle. They cannot be deleted after creation. If you need to stop using them, please go to the cost center to perform the unsubscribe operation.
Precautions for Changes
- When the cloud servers purchased with vouchers in the cluster are downgraded in specifications, the system will not refund the vouchers.
- After upgrading the specification configuration, you need to make up the price difference according to the price difference with the original specification and the time period already used.
- When the specifications (CPU or memory) of the cloud servers in the cluster become smaller, it will affect the performance of the cloud servers.
- After downgrading the specification configuration, if you need to upgrade back to the original specification again, you may need to pay additional fees.
